#1 Introduction
Pleasant finding you here!
With Fateful Reds development well on its way. I thought it was a good time to start a dev log.
I don't want to spoil any of the game right now but more so talk about the overall aim for this project.
------------------------------
We wanted to build a game that could showcase members of a community in a unique "time capsule-like" way, and make a game using the Pokemon 'battle system' much in the same way you would make a game using a deck of cards.
Our first task could have been solved in so many ways but we decided to spend the first half of the year developing a Twitch chat game called Pokechat. Chatters can use the cmd $PKM to create a trainer and get set up spending channel points to encounter and catch pkm! We then wrote a program that converts our game data into something Pokemon Essentials can use. This allows our chatter trainers to show up in Fateful Red. This leads us to task 2. Most Pokemon games focus on the trainer's adventure to collect badges. I wanted to create a more gameplay-focused experience. Fateful Red is centered around having knowledge of the core gameplay mechanics, as well as test your tactical, and resources management abilities.
Currently, we are working towards our first playable prototype. Follow me for more updates. Also, don't forget to check out itch.io discord and join the @dailydevs its a nice community of devs trying to get games done. BK O u t
